Lots of different strategies are used in volleyball. On the ofensive end plays can be run to score more points effectively. Some offensive plays could be a slide, a quick, or a stack. On the defensive end it just depends where you want your players against an attack from the other team.

There really isn't such thing as a forward in volleyball, but if you consider a forward to be an offensive player then the correct volleyball term for it would be an attacker
