Tyres can be no wider than 355 mm (14 in) and 380 mm (15 in) at the front and rear respectively. Unlike the fuel, the tyres bear only a superficial resemblance to a normal road tyre. Whereas a roadcar tyre has a useful life of up to 80,000 km (49,710 mi), in 2005, a Formula One tyre is built to last just one race distance (a little over 300 km (186 mi)). This is the result of a drive to maximize the road-holding ability, leading to the use of very soft compounds (to ensure that the tyre surface conforms to the road surface as closely as possible).

There are six types of tyre, of which teams have access to four at any one time.

1. Extreme wet tyres have 5mm tread and used for very wet condiditons.

2. Intermediate tyres are used for slightly wet condidtions and have 2.5mm tread.

3. Slick tyres: supersoft, soft, medium and hard, for six total types.

The slick tyres have no tread for maximum grip.

It varies in what year and not all tyres are same size, in F1, there are margin regulations which teams can adjust, which will suit the drivers in the cars.

In 2013, the complete wheel width must lie between 305mm and 355mm when fitted to the front of the car and between 365mm and 380mm when fitted to the rear. The complete wheel diameter must not exceed 660mm when fitted with dry-weather tyres or 670mm when fitted with wet-weather tyres. The wheel bead diameter must lie between 328 and 332mm.

So it quite hard to calculate the sizes as various parts of the tyre will vary depending on track, condition of the driver's styles.
