What are the main rules of soccer?

• Slide-tackling is illegal from behind, and you must clearly aim for the ball. You can only slide tackle from the front or the side.
• You cannot pull on someone's jersey to stop them from getting to the ball.
• When throwing in the ball, your back foot must remain on the ground at all times.
• Corner kicks are awarded to the offense when the defending team kicks the ball out of bounds between the goal post and the corner flag.
• Goal kicks are awarded to the defense when the offense kicks the ball out of bounds between the goal post and the corner flag.
• Free penalty kicks are awarded for fouls committed within the goal box.
• For fouls committed outside the goal box, free kicks are awarded in which the defending team may line up in an attempt to block the shot from a certain number of feet away.
• Depending on the game, if after full time there is a tie, extra time occurs and if after extra time the game is still tied, penalty kicks are awarded to each team (sometimes referred to as Sudden Death).
• One yellow card = warning. Two yellow cards = a red card, and you are kicked out of the game and not allowed to play in the next match.
