In order of best value to worse when playing with points

pawn : 1 move forward, cant go back, killing is one step diagonal (1 point)

knight : move in an L shape, 2 steps forward and then to left of right, can move in any direction (3 points)

bishop : move as long as possible diagonally only any direction (3 points)

rook : move horizontal or vertical as long as possible in any direction. (5 points)

queen : value of the bishop and the rook, can go diagonal, vertical or horizontal as far as possible (9 points)

king: move within one space of position any direction, once killed you lose the game.

also the king can also castle
