no, don't wear just normal running shoes. it is bad for your feet and ankles. you should buy some volleyball shoes. Aisics, muzunos, nikes. They make all different brands. also, if you have bad ankles, ankle braces.

You should expect different drills like passing the ball to a target, or maybe serving the ball. Every team tryout is different so it varies. Don't forget to CALL THE BALL... Loud!!!! And give the other people a high five or say 'good job' the coaches notice that stuff and dive for the ball only if you have knee pads though. and put your hair back and wear comfortable clothes and athletic shoes. And bring LOTS of WATER. Good Luck!!! And DO YOUR BEST! : )

Depending on the coach you will probobly do many drills. They usually all do butterfly drills that show your ability to move, learn fast, progress skills, and lets the coach know if you are team material. You should do crunches about a week before and work your way up to about 150. This will conition your abs to help with your overhand serve and hitting. Coaches love people that give effort. No matter how dumb what the coach is telling you to work on or change DO IT!!!! They love people that listen to them and try.

Go into the gym with confidence. Practice lots and the main thing is to be confident. I put a sticky note on my doorway so that Everytime I entered my room I would jump and try to hit the sticky note! It helps lots! Also find a wall or garage door to just pass against and hit against. Hope that helps! Good luck!

Always work on serving. This is something you will have to do in every game. Then practice which ever position you want to play.

Are high school cheer tryouts the same on college tryouts?

No, because most college squads will be more advanced than the high school squad. I can not tell you what the differences will be, because that is based on the schools. Here are a few tips for tryouts: be yourself, don't show frustration, SMILE, have fun, try your hardest, and and be proud of yourself no matter how it turns out. To prepare fo tryouts, ask the coach, or someone whohas tried out for that squad recently what you will be tested on, so you can mainly focus on those items. One other thing iis that you should always be trying to improve your skills! :)

Famous volleyball player volleyball play?

If you're American, you need to know Karch Kiraly (UCLA, USA Men's volleyball, AVP), considered the "MJ of Volleyball" if you will. There's plenty of articles on him and some Youtube vids (not too many but still). Also, Giba is considered the most versatile player indoor. He is retiring in a few years so catch some action of him on the Brazilian squad when you can. There's so many nowadays: Clay Stanley, Reid Priddy, Logan Tom just to name a few. Read some interviews from American pros to get you familiar with their lifestyle and volleyball tips as well. http://www.vballworld.com
