A fastpitch bat is typically used in a game of fast pitch softball. The bats usually come in composite and aluminum styles. Louisville Slugger makes some fastpitch bats.
easy...you learn how to do all kinds of pitches or just some pitches and you do it in a fast pitch league..
The mound is 40 feet away, except in college and some traveling leagues where it is 43 feet. (fastpitch)
No! Fast pitch softball is a demanding sport. You have to be quick, tough, but more importantly, you have to be smart. Softball and Baseball are some of the most complicated games played today. Strategy is a huge part of the game. The more you know, the better you will play. Also, there are also plenty of men's fastpitch softball leagues.
12 inch gloves can be used for fast pitching and slow pitching. Some of the better brands are Mizuno, Rawlings, Nokona, Wilson, and Easton.
Slowpitch Softball is played using a high-arc pitching technique where the ball slowly falls into the strike-zone. Slowpitch speeds range from 25mph-35mph. Fastpitch Softball a windmill pitching technique is used that increases that speed of the pitch significantly and allows the pitcher to throw different kinds of pitches like drop, rise, curve, screw, and change. Fastpitch speed range from usually 50mph-65mph. The rules are basically the same, minus some variations in batting. In slow pitch if you foul off the third strike you are out. In fastpitch the strike is not called until you swing with no contact with the ball. Both require different equipment. EX:A fastpitch bat is different from a slowpitch bat. Slow Pitch...the coach pitches it and fast pitch....one of the teammates pitches it! :)
There is a Professional Softball League in the United States, named the National Pro Fastpitch league, with some 6-8 teams/cities playing in 2008, in Midwest and eastern major cities, featuring top former college stars. See http://www.profastpitch.com
some people say that it should be the size of your hip. if you put the top of the softball bat on the ground making it parallel with your leg, it should be the size of your leg up to your hip. only some say that. mine is 33 in and it still doesn't reach my hip, so there you go. hope that helps.
