Keeping track of scores for the team in their matches. Keeping track of scores of individual players. Keeping count of how many matches were played, how many were won or drawn or lost. Counting how many times each player played and how much time they spent on the field. Finding average scores, or distances that the ball was thrown, or amounts of passes made. Keeping a track of anything financial, like expenses or sponsorship. Basically anything that involves numbers, and there are lots of those kinds of things for NFL teams, will be good for using Excel to work on.

Spreadsheets are for numerical analysis and manipulation. So they are basically designed to do all sorts of things with numbers. In terms of accounting, you can do your accounts on them. There are a lot of specialised financial functions, as well as the ability to do standard mathematical calculations, which is essential for accounting. For NFL, they would have accounting, but there would be a lot of things relating to the sport, like being able to do analysis on their scores in a season. They could get their average scores, how many wins and losses they had. Home wins and away wins could be calculated. Basically anything you want to do with numbers that related to them.

The relationships between users database applications DBMS and database?

The relationships between database applications DBMS and databases is as follows: Databases can be simple or complex. simple databases can be kept in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or they can be maintained in a user generated Microsoft Access database which can be programmed to query certain data that has been entered into that database over a period of time. Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access are also applications that are used to build databases that can be incorporated into DBMS or Database Management Systems. These systems can be extremely complex or they can be simple meaning that maintenance to these systems is not demanding. If the DBMS is complex it may require an entire team of technicians and in some cases engineers. The relationship between users, database applications, databases, and Database Management Systems can be simplified even further - Users can access a database that has been created with a database application to query managed data that is a part of a uniform Database management system.

How long does it take to develop a .net application similar to Microsoft Word and Excel?

Neither Excel nor Word are written in .NET As to how long it would take, if you are talking about an application that included all of the functionality of Word/Excel, and writing it from stratch as opposed to using the exposed COM components of Word/Excel, you are looking at a development time in terms of years, not months or days, for a single developer. If you had a whole team, then obviously the time would vary depending on the size of the team.
