A Fireman's helmet is made from metals such as brass, aluminum and nickel. You can get more information about this at the Wikipedia. Once on the website, type "Firefighter's helmet" into the search field at the top of the page and press enter to bring up the information.

Fireman's Helmets were originally make out of a very heavy, stuff leather.

Modern helmets are made from a very strong fiberglass & plastic combination that will not shatter when hit, can withstand intense heat, and are much lighter than the leather that they replaced. They are well padded and insulated

on the inside.
