hybrids are clubs which combine the pros of both woods and irons. they give you the loft, distance, and accuracy of irons with the larger "sweet spot" and misshot forgiveness of woods. they are best utilized when the ball is in the fairway. if you are facing a shot needing the distance of one of the larger irons, use the hybrid because they reduce the risk of a misshot (if you can hit decently). do not use them in medium to thick rough because of their larger clubheads. this can really mess up your shot. stick with an iron for recovery shots from off the fairway.

A hybrid club is designed for use by both amateurs and professionals. It works on the principal that the club head is extremely forgiving, and is therefore not as penal when you hit a bad shot. It also has a very low centre of gravity which is pulled all the way down to the back of the club, this means that it is much much easier to get the ball up in the air. They usually have shorter shafts to allow more control over the ball.

Hitting a hybrid out of the rough is very simple if you know what to do. First of all, club up. If you think you will use a 5 hybrid, use a 4. Second, hit it depending on how good you lie is. If you are hitting out of the light rough, hit it like you would off the fairway. If you are in the deep rough, try to take some grass with the ball when you hit it. If you can put spin on your shots, do not try it out of the rough. Since the grass is longer, you will not have the same amount of control as you would hitting off the fairway and you will end up hitting a bad shot. If you follow these steps, you will successfully hit your hybrids out of the rough. GOOD LUCK!!!

Hybrid clubs are basically a club with the loft of an iron with the shape of a wood. They usually have a graphite shaft, and are very forgiving. Most players have a 2, 3 or 4 hybrid, depending on the strength of the player and ability these clubs could go anywhere from 180 to 240 yards.

ANSWER:

The name "hybrid" comes from genetics to denote a mixture of two different species with desirable characteristics of both, and the term here has been generalized, combining the familiar swing mechanics of an iron with the more forgiving nature and better distance of a wood. Those who play the game regularly know full well that the flatter the iron, the greater the challenges.

exactly how you would swing the club it replaces e.g. i have a 19* hybrid. This is my 2 iron replacement so i would play the ball in the exact same position i would play my 2 iron.

Absolutely. Used hybrid cars are just as useful as used gasoline cars. There are fears that the batteries are "used up" in used hybrid cars, but the lifetime of the batteries is very long and this should not be a problem.
