How do you teach yourself how to do cheer jumps that are good for middle school cheerleading and any stretches that would help me do the jumps better?

I'm in middle school too:) Since teaching jumps is hard to describe, just search on youtube "how to do a toe touch, etc" Anyway, stretches... 1) Stand with your arms in T position and your legs together. Keeping your body in this position, lift one leg to the side and try to reach your toe above your finger tips. Do this ten times to each leg. (This helps with a toe touch) 2) Sit in a toe touch position and put your hands in front of your crotch, and straighten your arms. Lift one leg as high as you can, while keeping your arms in the same position. (even getting 1 or two inches off the ground is good!) Do this ten times on each leg. For me, it stretches the sides of my thighs, and improves toe touches. 3) You probably know this one. Sit in a pike position and try to reach your toes. This one stretches my knees and back. 4) Try doing handstands against a wall, or going for a walk. Anything that improves strength also improves jumps! It's going to take a while to get great jumps, but do these exercises every morning and night, or just when your watching tv will help.

What are Good cheerleading science fair projects?

How bout something easy like a volcano or talk about physics while doing jumps or talk about gravity. I think you should do something fun and something that relates to science..... like how high a basket toss can go with a tall person or a short person, is it easier to hol a small person that isn't tight? or a tall person that is? what stretches make you stronger and what techniques are better. -AmyJo(:

Is gymnastics better than cheerleading?

It's all up your personal opinion. My opinion basketball is way better because cheerleading way too girly for me (I'm a tomboy, hate girly stuff...eew...) Basketball there is a lot more action and running around. You need to have good strength, power and good shots for the ball to get into the hoop. It's epic. But if you prefer cheerleading, then that's fine because it's up to you. My sister prefers cheerleading because you need to be flexible and you need to be able to fly and flip your body around in the air while you rely on other girls to try and catch you. It's like their your safety net. So if you think you can manage all of that then cheerleading is for you. But if not, basketball. YOUR OPINION OK IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK..
