Common injuries are similar to other Track and Field athletics events like hamstring pulls, quadriceps pulls, shin splints etc.

Heel injuries are especially common due to athletes landing on their heels rather than landing on a flat foot with the weight at the ball of the foot.

It is good to be aware of the common injuries encountered by runners. Typically injuries associated with running include hamstring pulls, hip stress, runner knee, ankle pain and shin splint pain. To avoid these injuries, you must wear proper footwear, stretch before the run and cool down after the run. Visit the doctor in case the pain persists for more than 2-3 days.
