Yes. Robinson was not the first African American to be signed to a major league contract contrary to what many believe. The other player (I'm sorry I can't remember the name) was signed a few years before Jackie was, but he failed to make it out of the minor leagues. Robinson, therefore, became the first black Baseball player in Major Leagure Baseball history. so he was the first blac, African American to actually play in the majors on the dodgers.
