The answer to this is, it depends. There are many factors that can affect the value of a 1996 Kobe Bryant Starting Lineup. The first thing to consider, is which edition it is. The most valuable of the 96 Kobe SLUs is the extended edition, which includes a rookie card. The next thing to consider, is what is the condition of the piece? Is it in the original packaging, still sealed? Is it in pristine condition, and is the packaging also in pristine condition? Of course, the more intact and pristine (or mint) the piece is, the higher the value. The easiest way to gauge the value of a piece at any given point in time, is to do a search for that item on auction sites such as eBay. Look for auctions with the item, that actually have bids on them, and take an average of what that item is selling for. Right now, if you look on eBay today (08/29/11), and you search for "1996 Starting Lineup Kobe", there are 11 results. Most of them are buy-it-now fixed priced sales, with only 3 auctions with live bids. The live bids are not ended yet, so we can't be certain at this moment what will be the final selling price on those, but if we average all eleven listings, with the live-bid auctions at their current bids, the average list price is $92.27. However, if we only average the 3 auction style listings that actually have bids on them, at their current bid prices-- then the average selling price is much lower, around $19.97. What this means is that the perceived value of the item today is somewhere around $90, but if you are a person wanting to sell this item quickly-- then you will probably get somewhere around $20. Hope this helps. :0)
