Mr. Red GrangeHarold "Red" Grange was a halfback at Illinois and played pro ball with the Chicago Bears. Was he good? His number - 77 - is retired at both. He was the best. inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1963. He passed away in Lake Wales, FL in 1991.
Red was and is still to this day University of Illinois football. In 2009 outside Memorial Stadium in Champaign, Illinois the university showed their appreciation to everything he meant to Illinois football by dedicating a statue to him.
