symic teeth and horse flu. Many people have their horses vacinated with 5 way (Tetnus, Eastern and Western enciphilygitis, influenze and rhino) as they may be at risk from contagious diseases being stabled and shown near so many other horses
This will vary by track, but in general most tracks will require a horse to be vaccinated for rabies, EHV-1, EHV-4 and strangles prior to admitting them to the track stables. They must also have a current negative Coggin's test.
Some tracks may require more extensive vaccination protocols than this, and all horses should be vaccinated against tetanus, West Nile Virus, WEE and EEE.
There are no legal requirements for vaccinating horses in the US. However, each show organizer or facility manager has the right to require particular vaccination before they will allow a horse to enter a show or facility. These requirements vary from event to event.
