Yes, the designated hitter position should be banned from the MLB. There are a lot of reasons as to why they should, but I'll sum it up.
If they play on the field, they should have to bat. There are no "designated hitters" for the outfielders, first and second basemen, shortstop and 3rd basemen, or the catcher. So if these guys are forced to hit if they want to play on the field, why shouldn't the pitchers have to bat? Yes even though statistics show that pitchers do not make the best batters and don't practice offense as much as they are a defensive player, pitchers should still have to bat.
