∙ 13y agoJohn Isner had the most aces in a professional tennis match on June 22-June 24, 2010 in the first round at Wimbledon with a record 112 aces against Nicolas Mahut. As of June 23, the match was called due to darkness (for the second day in a row) at 59 game to 59 and will resume on June 24, 2010. There are no tiebreakers in a deciding fifth set at Wimbledon, which is why the match has continued on for dozens of games. The fifth set continued on for another hour, lasting for 11 hours and 183 games. John Isnwer won the deciding fifth set 70 games to 68. The match consisted of numerous broken records, including the longest match ever played in open era.
Nicolas Mahut had 103 aces at the end of the day on June 23, which now holds as the second most aces in a match.

The most aces served by a woman in a match was 24 by Serena Williams in her match vs. Azarenka in the 2012 Wimbledon Semifinal and by Kaia Kanepi in her match vs. Safarova in the 2008 Tokyo First Round.
