Yes you should wear a helmet while riding a scooter. Scooters may appear very safe, but they're not, and anything with wheels that goes fast, and you don't have 100% control over it, should be used only with a helmet on.
Since a child body is young, children need to wear complete safety gears from head to toe. A helmet is a must, wearing protective elbow gear is good. And of course guidance vision is also needed.
When buying a bicycle for a child, you should look for 5 different things. Children's bikes sizes are calibrated not by height of the bike, but by wheel sizes, ask the local seller what is most suitable for the user of the bike. The wheels of a bike play a very important part in the safety of a bike. The wheel rims ideally should be made of a metal alloy or aluminium. Brakes are one of the most important aspects of a kid's bike. Kid's bikes typically have coaster breaks, which are engaged by pedaling the bike backwards. Lastly, the frame should be strong and have a chain guard mounted to prevent jamming or getting stuck in the gearwheel area.
Helmets and pads (knee and elbow) for sure. I would add gloves to the list.
the main equipment you need for skateboarding is the board itself, with wheels, etc. Then you need a safety helmet. After that, something like a half-pipe where you can practice your skateboarding is helpful.

It depends on what your daughter is interested in. Bars, vaults, and beams are popular pieces of gymnastics equipment. Also don't forget to get mats for safety! I'd suggest training dvds as well!
Protection for your head, knees, wrists and elbows is a first. Then consideration and safety for other people that you might bump/crash into. If your a parent, don't make your kid wear that stuff, unless their gonna be doing stuff like vert skating (skating on ramps and stuff), if its just on the street, don't need it, makes them feel dumb and babyish! im 14!!

Exercise equipment weights usually don't have a safety warning label on them. Most the time the work out equipment its self bares these safety instructions.
If You don't have safety equipment buy some!
