Why can't I find him on any of the NFL rosters from 1986 to 2002. Did he ever play a game, since the note states that you must have played at least one game. I could only find 1995 arena where he was 2 for 5, and 91 and 92 Canadian league where he was 23 for 50 one year and 0 for 0 the next. Nothing with the NFL
I found nothing in Pro Football Database about Lee Saltz so he must not have played a game with the Patriots or for any NFL team. I did find an old New York Times article from August 20, 1992 about the Patriots cuts from the squad:
"New England Patriots -- Waived Randy Austin, tight end; Tracy Boyd, guard; Waldy Clark, cornerback; Ilia Jarostchuk, linebacker; Time Kalal, punter; David Key, safety; Lee Saltz, quarterback, and Jeff Smith and John Tappin, wide receivers."
So he must have been in the Patriots training camp in 1992.
I also found a New York Times article dated December 16, 1992 that stated:
"New England PATRIOTS -- Signed Lee Saltz, quarterback, to the practice squad."
So they must have signed him to the practice squad towards the end of the 1992 season.
I also found the information concerning him playing for the San Antonio Riders of the World League of American Football in 1991 and the Sacramento Surge of the WLAF in 1992 (in the previous post it is mentioned as the Canadian Football League but actually is the World League of American Football). But I found nothing about a Lee Saltz on a roster/playing in an NFL game anywhere else.
A Wikipedia article on the Hamilton Tiger Cats of the CFL states:
"The 1990s were marked by financial instability, and constant struggles on the field. Quarterback was a weak spot for the Ti-Cats, as in the first half of the decade had names like Don McPherson, Damon Allen, Timm Rosenbach, Matt Dunigan, Lee Saltz and Todd Dillon taking their turns at the pivot."
Drew Bledsoe
Tom Brady was the quarterback for the New England Patriots since 1999, but Tom Brady was drafted in 2000.
Tom Brady became the starting quarterback for the New England Patriots in 2001. His first start in the NFL was on September 30, 2001 versus the Indianapolis Colts. The Patriots won the game 44-13.
They drafted Michael Bishop, Tom Brady, Rohan Davey, and Matt Cassel.
Drew Bledsoe was the qb in New England when they drafted Tom Brady
Quarterback Jim Plunkett, drafted with the #1 selection by the New England Patriots in the 1971 NFL Draft. His mother was part Native American. Plunkett is the only 2 time Sup[er Bowl winning quarterback not to he enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
That would be quarterback Drew Bledsoe in the 1993 draft.
Quarterback Jim Plunkett was the Patriots first round draft choice in 1971 and was the starting quarterback for the Raiders in Super Bowls XV and XVIII.
No. Tight end Ben Watson was drafted by the New England Patriots in 2004.
He was drafted by the Patriots in 200, 6th round pick 199 overall
Since 2000, when he was drafted by the New England Patriots.
Tom Brady was drafted by the New England Patriots in the 6th round of the 200 draft, with the 199th overall pick.
