It depends on your definition of "rougher." Lacrosse isn't as physically straining in the respect that there are no tackles like there are in football, however lacrosse requires more conditioning, constant long distance running and transitions from jogging to sprinting, whereas football focuses more on short running spurts because of the stop and play nature of the game.

Lacrosse is so much more exciting. Its fast paced and lasts longer on each play then football where the action only goes to about 15 seconds per play. I love both sports but i believe lax is better
