Lacrosse was originally a way for Native Americans to test their strength, endurance, and speed. They used this game as a way to settle disputes, prepare for war, or for leadership. Women were forbidden to play because the game was unsafe and had no padding involved as it does today. Games could last several months at a time and often people were killed or severely injured.

∙ 14y agoLacross is actually the national sport of Canada. it Was started hundreds of years ago as a aborigional game played with long sticks and a hard ball. It was thrown from person to person with these sticks and often times got very rough.

the cue button is broken on my keyboard so bare with me here...The Irikoi Indians invented the sport as a token for the gods. When a team took the field, they knew very well that a loss would mean death by beheading without doubt. From there, I think you can get the picture as to why Canada felt this way.
