Yes. Only at Fenway Park in Boston. Fenway's Green Monster is the home of baseball's only in-play ladder, which extends from the upper-left corner of the old scoreboard to the top of The Wall. If the ball bounces off of that and out of play, the batter is awarded three bases.

Actually, there is not - this is an urban legend. Here is the actual ground rule, from the Boston Red Sox's official website on mlb.com (copied here as Fair Use):
A ball striking the top of the scoreboard in left field in the ladder below top of wall and bounding out of the park is two bases.

Interestingly, the term "ground rule double" as commonly used is itself a misnomer. A "ground rule" is a rule that applies at a specific ballpark - a rule for that "grounds". The ground rules at Fenway Park are different from those at Wrigley Field or any other ballpark. What is commonly called a "ground rule double" should be more properly called an "automatic double" if it applies at all ballparks universally.
Last night, August 13, 2010, Mets v. Phillies, Mike Hessman hit a ball that was called a home run on the field, but after a video review, he was awarded third base--possibly on the umpire's judgment that the ball would have bounced off off the fence and been umplayable until the hitter was on third--a ground rule triple--leading to the line, "Only the Mets could hit a home run and not score." They didn't score that inning, although the replays on-air seemed to indicate that even though the ball had been interferred with by a fan, it would have gone over the relevant orange line.

∙ 13y agoThere is no possible way to get a ground rule triple. There are only ground rule doubles. The only way to get a triple is by getting to third base without a error during the play.
