Not alot, maybe 1/20 of the country.
I'm Canadian, and almost sixty years old, if we have a "traditional" dance like other countries its news to me, Except for the native Canadians most Canadians came from so many other countries to escape hunger, war, political or religious intolerance, it was the land of the proverbial fresh start.
We respect the countries of our forebear's, but it would be hard to have a national dance accepted in such a diverse culture between the polkas from Poland, Germany and he Baltic states, native dances both Indian and Eskimo, the highland fling's of Scotland, jigs of Ireland and Newfoundland, ballroom dances from the grand European descendants, how could we choose, we do like the waltz though, cause you get to give someone a hug, because remember we are basically pacifists -smile -
There are number of famous dances in Canada. Some of these include creative dance, folk dance, modern dance, jazz dance, hip-hop, as well as ballet.
