It would depend on the time it takes the ball to get 80 yards. To find the speed, you take the distance (in this case, 80 yards) and divide it by the time it takes to get there.

If you take the time in seconds, you'll have the speed in yards/second. If you want to convert that to miles/hour, you would do this:

80 yards = 1/22 miles

The time in hours it took would be t/3600, where t is the time it took in seconds.

To find the miles/hour after you have the number of miles it traveled and the time it traveled, you would dived 1/22 by t/3600.

So let's say it took 2 seconds for the ball to travel 80 yards.

(1/22) / (2/3600) = 82 MPH

Depends on angle of release. You can calculate on your own, using the Trajectory of a projectile. The optimal angle of release to throw as far as possible is 45º, with no air resistance. A Baseball court without air is rare, so you're going to wanna lower the angle of release as the ball will rise, "Surfing" on the air, like a frisbee or a plane. This is all relative and is determined on the speed of the projectile. a Hammer has for instance the optimal angle of release at 42º while a gun has it closer to 35º. A baseball is presumably to be released at around 41º angle to reach out as far as possible. Though if you want to calculate on it, you will not be able to take air resistance under consideration and will only be accurate within +-0,2% the total distance. You'll have to use 45º as an angle of release. Now. To put together a formula you need these following five components: g: the gravitational acceleration-usually taken to be 9.81 ms-2 near the Earth's surface θ: the angle at which the projectile is launched v: the velocity at which the projectile is launched y0: the initial height of the projectile d: the total horizontal distance traveled by the projectile Formula: d = v cos θ / g (v sin θ + √(v sin θ)² + 2gy0) Just change the components you desire and follow the formula and you'll have your answer. Google the Trajectory of a projectile formulaif you're having a hard time understanding this one. Wikianswers isn't exactly great when it comes to typing mathematic symbols. There might even be a program out there, calculating it for you, google is your friend.

Yes, throwing 82 MPH as a 13 year old is very fast, almost inhuman. The fastest pitchers at that age might throw from 60-65 MPH
