Accordig to one of Newton's laws, the force is equal because objects exert equal and opposite force on one another. This is why if you punch a brick wall, your hand will probably hurt. You are hitting the brick wall and it is "hitting" you back with the same amount of force.

What force is exerted on the racket by a hit tennis ball?

It spins when you roll your racket while hitting the ball... In coaching terms, instead of "rolling your racket" you "stroke" or move your racket from point A to B to C. Example: Top spin; point A would be your back swing and usually below the path of the oncoming ball.......point B would be your contact point of the ball.......point C would be stroking forward in an upward direction, thereby imparting top spin on the ball. There is more information on the issue of spin and the material on the face of the paddle at the linked question.

Why does hitting a ball with a tennis racket at the edge give the ball more speed?

It doesn't. You typically want to hit the ball in the center of the racket, or a little bit towards the tip of the racket. Hitting near the edge of a racket produces sidespin, which makes your ball inconsistent and probably slows the ball down because it won't penetrate the court like a normal top-spin shot.

What effects the tennis balls height?

When struck by a tennis racket the factor which effects the ball is how much spin is applied to the ball (more specific top spin) and the surface which you play on. For example: hard courts will bounce alot higher then grass courts.

How do you play badminton properly?

Playing badminton follows the same rules as tennis, except that instead of a tennis ball, you use a birdie (which moves much more slowly) and instead of a tennis racket you use a badminton racket (which is pretty much the same thing). You have to hit the birdie so that it goes over the net, but not out of bounds. Simple.

What do shock asobers do when its on the tennis racket?

Shock absorbers reduces the amount of vibration that gets to your arm. Generally this should make hitting the ball more comfortable.

Does a wet tennis ball bounce lower than a dry one?

It depends. If a tennis balls are hit with the same amount of force, then the dry tennis ball will travel faster and farther. However, if the two tennis balls begin traveling at the same speed, then the dry tennis ball will slow down more rapidly than the wet tennis ball. The reason is the added mass of water. It would take more force to make the wet tennis ball fly as fast as the dry, but the added mass also requires more force to slow down the wet ball.

When a racket hits a tennis ball what force is exerted?

It is the same force but it is used more efficiently because the strings of the racket are put under tension like springs at the moment of hitting the ball, which with the ball's natural elasticity allows more energy to be transferred to the ball, making it go faster.

How newtons laws can be applied to different sports?

Newton's 2nd law can be applied to many sports. If you are playing soccer the more force you exert during the kick the faster the acceleration which means that when the ball leaves your foot it is going faster allowing it to go further. (The bigger the force the greater the acceleration and therefore speed.) If you are playing baseball, the pitcher trains to increase his arm strength because the ball is a bit heavier than other balls so more force needs to be exerted on it to move it at 80-100 miles per hour. (Force is proportional to mass x acceleration, to accelerate a heavier object requires more force.) If you are playing tennis then you use a much heavier racket than if you are playing badminton. This is because tennis balls are much heavier than Badminton shuttlecocks. As the racket hits the ball/shuttle two things happen, the ball/shuttle accelerates and the head of the racket decelerates. You want a racket that is the right weight for the thing you are hitting. Too heavy and you can't accelerate it fast enough making you slow, too light and it just stops when you hit the ball/shuttle. (Force is proportional to mass x acceleration, to accelerate a heavier object requires more force, to decelerate (an every day term for acceleration in the opposite direction to movement) requires more force.) If you are a defender in football it is good to be heavy. When a fast light oponant hits you he will stop quicker if you are heavier than he is. (This is more easily explained using conservation of momentum but this is derived from Newton's 1st and 2nd laws.)
