No its considered a fumble in basketball
You exert a downward force onto the ball, and because it is rubber, it will bounce back up to you. Do this repetitively, and you will be dribbling a basketball. (YOu know you are doing it correctly if the ball is going UP and DOWN!)
It's when a team automatically gives possession to the other team. Like double dribbling, traveling, over and back, carrying, charge, and things like that.
dribble behind the half court line.....(not over and back)
The way it works is that you can not run or dribble the basketball (back when it was invented). You can not take more than one step with the ball.
That's a really good question. I'm not positive but I would say basketball because travel foul double dribble over and back and twist ball
I believe that it's just like basketball - dribbling. According to Webster: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/dribbling
1. Dribble close to you and close to the ground. 2. Do not take your eye away from your defender; he can steal the ball at any time. 3. Do not try many fancy moves (i.e. behind the back passes) as your chances of retaining the ball are not good.
In the NBA the player has 8 seconds to cross the back court. In college it's 10.
double header
Crossovers, between the legs, behind the back, spinning the ball on a finger, scissors, and dribbling 2 basketballs at one time are some tricks you can perform with a basketball.
Three steps without dribbles, the ball's turned over. You can pivit, though. After you use your dribble, you can keep one foot on the ground and move the other. You cannot dribble again, but you can pass or shoot. If you pass and get it back, you can dribble again.
