The scenario you describe has two playoff spots open .... the NL East title and the wild card. In this case, the Phillies and the Mets would play a one game playoff. The winner would be crowned NL East champion. The loser would then play a one game playoff with the Padres. The winner would be crowned the wild card team and the loser would be out of the playoffs.
