US Eastern Time is (Greenwich Mean Time) GMT -5 hours, ie. 5 hours behind Greenwich, England.

US Central Time is (Greenwich Mean Time) GMT -6 hours, ie. 6 hours behind Greenwich, England.

If it is 10:00am in US CST, it is 11:00am in US EST. (Daylight savings not taken into account.)

Central Standard Time is one hour earlier than Eastern Standard Time.

Examples:

If it is 1:00 am in the Eastern Standard Time zone it would be 12:00 am (midnight) in the Central Standard Time zone.

If it is 1:00 pm in the Eastern Standard Time zone it would be 12:00 pm (noon) in the Central Standard Time zone.

EST = GMT - 5

CST = GMT - 6
