The defending team gets the ball after a missed field goal regardless of down
Unless the refs call a do over and the team with the ball gets another chance to either run/pass for their extra points or make another kick attempt.

∙ 10y agoIt depends:
In the NFL, it is from the spot that the ball was placed for the kicker.
In College and High School, it is from the line of scrimmage where the ball was snapped.

The D on a football field is marked there specifically for penalties so that no other player can encroach into the area until the penalty has been struck. It serves no other purpose
a penalty shoot out of drop goals is carried out. with each player taking a turn at different spots on the field until one of the players misses and the other completes the drop goal (like sudden death in football).
Not really. It's the same size as all the other football fields in Canada.
loss of possession (ball handed over to other team)
It's when a player makes a basket during the normal play of the game. Dunks, layups, jump shots, & 3 point shots are examples of field goals. A free throw is NOT a field goal because it doesn't occur during the normal play of the game.It is when you throw the ball into the basket
No. A fotball field is an area of grass or other surface painted in the outline of a football field. A line segment is a straight line which has a defined beginning and end, and is continuous between those points.
There is 1 referee and 6 other officials on the field at one time.
Yes, the word misses is a verb. For example: "he misses the ball".Other verbs are miss, missing and missed.
120 yards from the back of one endzone to the end of the other.
A football field, within the "in-bounds" area of the field, is 0.9 acres -- starting at the goal line and ending at the 10 yard line on the other end of the field. When you include the full length of the field plus the end zones, a football field is 1.32 acres.A high school football field measures 360 feet long by 160 feet wide (playing area). This equals 57,600 square feet which translates to 1.32231 acres.
