The things we do in Track and Field (sprinting, distance running, throwing, jumping) have been done forever. Like in the first ancient Olympic games the only event was a race around the perimeter of the stadium which was 210 yards long. Since then we have promoted the sport and put in more events based on what people do like sprinting, hurdling, running long distances, throwing big rocks(shot put), throwing javelin shaped things at animals, we decided to put these events in to see who does them the best. This sport is currently 2085 years old (776 BC-present), and one of the worlds biggest past times.
