It is less about the age then about the attitude and ability to focus. I have had 4 year olds that were very focused. I've had to ask 8 year olds to come back in a year. As long as the child does not endanger the others in the class, or take up all of the instructors attention with discipline, I'll let them stay.

The youngest age a person knows how to comprehend what is being taught.

Schools vary at the age that they start. I typically say 6 years old for my classes, but I will evaluate the individual. I've had 4 year olds that are focused and work hard. I've had 8 year olds that don't 'get it' and are a real challenge to try to teach anything.

It depends on the school and instructors. Some schools provide classes for as young as 4 year olds.

I have set 7 as the youngest in my classes, however, I will allow younger children if they can behave in class and follow instruction. I do not allow children that disrupt the class at any age. It is not safe to have someone risking the safety of the others, or monopolizing the instructor's attention at the expense of others. I have several 4 year olds that are very focused and pay attention well.

The best age to begin karate is the age where you want to become stronger, have better balance, and have more confidence in being able to defend yourself. There is no best age, it varies with each person.

That will depend on the specific school and their rules. Some schools will take students as young as 4. I only teach students that are 7 and above, but will consider younger if they have the proper attitude.

Some schools have cute kiddy blackbelts at ages of 4 or so however there are important considerations to be made for young children regarding the damage of growth plates in their bones at young ages or the danger of concussion from head blows. Young kids are not as receptive to the restraints put on them by the abilities they may learn or the needs for decorum in the dojang.

well in many karate dojo's you have to be at least 5 or already able to talk it shows that you can pay attention if you know how to speak.

That depends on the school and your parents. I've had students as young as 4, but don't officially take anyone under 6.

Karate can be started at any age. As long as they are focussed and willing to pay attention, age is not important.
