In most countries you cannot turn pro till 16 and it is not as simple as just deciding to do so as you either have to have progressed enough in the sport to be a high level A grade rider Nationally or you have to earn enough points to be allowed to enter pro level racing.

Depends on the team, the sponsors, and how good you are.... Some AMA racers do not make any money, some are Privateers that actually PAY to race in the AMA!

i race pro-kart and i moved up from cadets at the age of 12 but if you already race i think you can move up at 11 ( i race in MSA meetings)
