This is considered a race for 3-year-olds, but their actual age can be 2 if they turn 3 later in the year.
Race horses are given the birth date of January 1st for age calculation, no matter when they fold. That is why it is so very important to have your horse fold in the early Spring.

∙ 11y agothey have to be 3- whatever to race, though I would wait until they are 5 to race, and take them up in the thin mountain air for training if you can afford it, because they will get accustomed to the thin air and use less air when racing, there for they won't tire as quickly with the normal air( 0-156ft above sea level). :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

∙ 7y agoYou can be as young or as old as you want to own a race horse. If you're a child or a teen though, you must have your parents permission to own the race horse ! You have a responsibility to take proper care of your race horse don't forget !

Noun 1. Preakness - an annual race for three-year-old horses; held at Pimlico in Baltimore, Maryland thoroughbred race - a race between thoroughbred horses
No certain age. I know a 6 year old who can train them.
I have seen horses race as yearlings and to be in the Kentucky Derby they must be three. It just depends on the race! Most thoroughbreds begin racing at age 2.
for most horses yes but every horse is different so it depends on the horse
Twenty horses can race at a time
They can be good race horses against other Morgans, but not against Thoroughbreds or Quarter horses.
They don't really have a name for a group of race horses as far as I know. Cause generally when racing, they compete against each other. And it's a solo race for the win. So there is no association with the other horses, like for example a team of basketball players. There is no real name for a pack of race horses or a herde of race horses, or horde of race horses..............
It really depends on the trainer, but most are starting training when they are about 2 or 3 years old so they can get their prime years on the actual race track. But there is the yearling race in which 1 yr old horses race.
