well it depends on ur height and weight like see im 12 and im 5'9 and weigh 166 pounds but i can chest press 290 pounds which is way above average. if u are my height and weight u should actually bench 100 pounds and curl 40

Really, 12-year-olds aren't expected to lift anything in weights. A 12-year-old body isn't fully developed yet, but here is what each gender should lift: Girl: 40% of body weightBoy: 50% of body weight Remember, every 12-year-old is different, because of build, genetics, etc., and you shouldn't think you are not fit or strong enough if you cannot lift 50 or 40 percent of your body weight. Your body is still growing, and you shouldn't push yourself to lift 40-50 percent of your body weight. Although many people say that anyone should be able to do their own weight in lifting or bench pressing, that figure was made for adults, and not kids. The figure above is around what kids should do, but 12 years old might be too young to even achieve the figure above. The figure above was mainly meant for 14-year-olds, and sometimes even 13-year-olds, but if you are fit enough, it is for the 12-year-old body.

They should be able to bench press their own body weight.
