45,000-75000 dollars a year! but as you get more involved in your career and have been doing it for a couple of years, the salary will increase and if you get lucky.... and you have a pretty face, you might get a t.v. show named after you and then make over a million dollars a year!Casey

You won't make $45,000-$75,000 simply as a reporter until you get to a television market the size of a Cincinnati, San Diego, Baltimore, Portland, etc... Speaking from experience. I'm in my third year anchoring and reporting in a medium-to-small sized market and have yet to crack the $25,000 a year mark. That's pretty standard for a starting reporter in about the 150 smallest markets in the U.S. The ceiling for those markets usually won't ever get above $40,000 even for the most experienced reporters (again, if they're just a "reporter"). However, if we're talking NBC Nightly news correspondent - that salary has 7-figures... which is why this $25K a year guy is sticking it out!
