Gillette sponsored most of the all star games in the early 1970s. Finding promotional items from Gillette from 1972 such as posters, and All-star ballots together with the Baseball will increase the value. If the ball was purchased with a mail away promotion any documentation of this like a mail in coupon, or advertising for the promotional baseball will also increase the value further. The Facsimile Autographs on the Baseball will also determine the value appealing to collectors of a noted player. I believe ballplayers such as Carl Yastrzemski, Nolan Ryan, Brooks Robinson, and Reggie Jackson are on this ball and would be very desirable to the collectors of these ball players. Facsimile Baseballs from this era typically sell for $25.00 - $40.00. But by putting the ball together with the items described above, and Targeting collectors of players that are on the ball will double the value if not more. If the baseball was a souvenir bought at the stadium the price might be slightly lower.

The 1977 All-Star Baseball game was sponsored by Gillette. All-Star Ballots were made available at stores that sold Gillette products, and the Ballot box display had a special offers to send away for this baseball. The baseball was made available for about a dollar with a proof of purchase of a Gillette product. The baseball features the facsimile (stamped) signatures of some of the All-Stars from that year.

I don't have information on that particular baseball but a 1960's Gillette World Series Special Souvenir Baseball with 10 facsimile signatures including Mays, Banks, Marichal, Fox, etc.sold for $5. on eBay. I think this price was low, and I missed out on it as I was planning to bid on it.

If you can find some of the promotional advertising for this Gillette baseball offer it would sell for a lot more money. Even if just a magazine ad. A computer print out of one might serve it's purpose. Without the promotion it would be worth about $10.-$15.in excellent -Near/mint condition.

For more information on Gillette All-Star ballots visit the link I left below. I will be adding information on the 1977 ballots as well in the near future.
