If you were think that it takes all your force to break you composite hockey stick think again. It actually depends how much the stick have has been flexed foe example if you stick has been flexed about 100 times you can get a really hard pass and the stick will break.

How much force does it take to break a car window?

The force required to break a car window can vary based on factors such as the type of glass and its thickness. Generally, it takes about 50 to 100 pounds of force to shatter a tempered glass car window. However, hitting the glass at the right angle or using a pointed object can significantly reduce the required force. Always prioritize safety and legal considerations when attempting to break a window.

Force needed to break glass?

There is no exact amount because there are many things that make all glass different. First there are things called flaws. These are things such as scratches, chips, etc. The size and the thickness also determine how much force is needed. The thicker and smaller the pane, the harder it is to break. It also depends on the type of glass. The most common are soda lime, borosilicate, and quartz, which are very different in strength.

How much pressure needed to break glass?

The pressure needed to break glass varies depending on the type and thickness of the glass. Generally, it takes about 10,000 pounds per square inch (psi) to break tempered glass, but can be significantly less for thinner or annealed glass. For safety glass, such as laminated glass, it can take even higher pressures to break due to its construction with multiple layers.

How much force can ordinary glass withstand?

Ordinary glass can typically withstand compressive forces up to 10,000 pounds per square inch, but it is more vulnerable to tensile and impact forces. These types of stresses can cause glass to shatter or break more easily. The exact amount of force glass can withstand depends on factors such as its thickness, quality, and shape.

Why a glass will not be broken when it falls to a carpet but not when it falls to a marble floor?

A glass will not break when it falls onto a carpet because the carpet provides a softer, more forgiving surface that absorbs the impact energy, reducing the force exerted on the glass. In contrast, a marble floor is hard and rigid, which means it does not absorb much energy; when the glass hits this surface, the force is concentrated on the glass, often leading to breakage. The cushioning effect of the carpet prevents the glass from reaching the critical stress point that would cause it to shatter.
