Military pay rates are set by congress and and are the same for all services. They include base pay plus a number of various additives depending on the type and conditions of your duty. Some examples include such various incentives as flight pay, hazardous duty pay, hardship pay, housing allowances, etc. A junior military pilot just out of flight school would earn around $3000 per month plus an additional $150 or so for flight pay. Any additional pay incentives would be on top of this amount. These pay rates go up with rank and longevity, and of course, any annual congressional increases.
