What are the rules in flag football in order to get a first down?

If you notice, all down the field there should be different colored or shaped cones or paint marks. For example all down the field there are blue pylon's. At midpoint on the field there will be different colored or shaped cones, one on each side. Those are the first down points. If you cross those, you have a first down, and you start with all new downs. BUT If you do not pass those points and you end up in between the first down point and the point on the side closest to you, it is a NO RUN ZONE and you MUST PASS. I have been playing Flag Football since college, I was on my college team, and I now play women's Flag Football so I have plenty of experience.
