There is the 60-meter dash, 100-meter dash, The 200 and 400 meter races, 110-meter high hurdles or 400-meter intermediate hurdles, 100 hurdles(usually the ladies), the 800(half a mile), 1,600 (1 mile) and 3,200 (2 mile), three "relay" events which are the 4x100, 4x400 or 4x800, then there are the field events which are discus, shot put, hammer, javelin, long jump, triple jump, high jump and pole vault. It also depends if your in middle school, high school, or college because each do certain events. I have been in track for three years so this how I know all of these, if you have any other questions or if you want to know a description for each let me know and I'd be more than happy to help(:

There's tons! There are four field events: high jump which requires a good vertical jump; shotput which involves strength and good coordination; long jump which requires speed and a good jump; and pole vault which involves upper body strength and no fear of heights. Then there are A LOT of running events

Track events are generally divided into field and track events. These include the 100 meter dash, 1600 meters, 1600 meter relay, and the 110 meter high hurdles.
Four Track and Field events are the long jump, high jump, hurdles, and the 2,000-meter race. Track and field is a sport which combines various athletic contests based on the skills of running, jumping, and throwing.
There is the 800m run, now classified as a sprint in the Olympics, the 100m run,the most popular event, high jump, this is were athletes try and jump over a bar set a a certain hight to see who has the highest vertical jump. finally there is shot put, muscular competitors try and see who can throw a weighted ball the farthest.
