There are two famous rectangles that together make a square. one is known as golden rectangle the other one was not known until I discovered and named it Silveryrectangle. Definition of Silvery(Simin)rectangle is a rectangle that it's side difference is the side of a square equal in surface area to that rectangle, which means if the sides of the rectangle are M and N;

(M-N)^2=M*N

The answer to this equation are, square root of 5divided by 2 plus and minus 1 divided by 2

We can see these two rectangles crossed, craved into mountain stone(seven of them)at Fars'Naghshe Ros-tam in Iran.Hurmazdian Cross.

The smallest integer values to represent proportions for these two rectangles are: 5 by 8 for golden and , 3 by 8 for silvery or simin proportion,so if you take an 8by8 square sheet you have a template for your architectural purposes like the one the ancient mason masters used to have.Try to achieve these proportions geometrically in a square and then greed that square 8by8 and see what happens.

Silvery or Simin Rectangle:

M=1/2(5)^1/2+1/2

N=1/2(5)^1/2-1/2

The 8 X 8 chess board evolved from earlier models. The precursors of chess are thought to have originated in 6th century India with the pieces representing the four branches of the military. Archeological findings that have been uncovered revealed distantly related game boards and figures dating back 2000 years BCE. Early boards included 10 X 10 and 9 X 9 boards but the 8 X 8 ashtapada (Sanskrit for having eight feet) became predominant. From there chess migrated to Persia and as the rules developed it migrated to other countries in the Middle East and then on to Russia and Western Europe. As it spread many variants appeared.

If the above Statement is regarding the Date,I would ask this question:

how reliable are Dates given to us by Historians?

The highest Columns in Perspolis having Taurus amphoteric heads on them tells me about astronomical dating of this magnificent imperial Complex.

Like a finger pointing up to Taurus constellation in spring Equinox.

That means 4300 years at least is the Age of Perspolis.

The history of Chess is longer than what is given by Historians specialy 8 by 8 one.
