An Olympic Length pool is 50 meters. To convert any meter to feet, you multiply by 3.28084, so an Olympic Length pool should be 164.02 feet or 54.68 yards.

addendum: for extra trivia - an Olympic pool is 25 meters wide and 2 meters deep. Use the same conversion factor as mentioned above.

Junior Olympic PoolsThe City of Irvine, CA qualifies that a Jr. Olympic pool is (in English dimensions) 75' long (min.), 5' deep, with 7' wide lanes, and an extra 1.5' at the end lanes. I'm still looking for more information to back this up.

A Junior Olympic Pool is 25 meters long. (Half of the Olympic pool that is 50 m) Ideally it should be 25 meters but not necessarily. Funny things you see in US!! For e.g. Bally Fitness in Glendale Heights, IL calls its pool size Junior Olympic but its only 20 meters in length. I guess the confusion is because Junior Olympic is not even an internationally recognized size. Somebody must have just coined this term and is now used loosely by people.

The so called "junior olympic" sized pool that you are most likely referring to (the normal sized pools for high schools and neighborhoods) are 75 feet by 45 feet with six lanes each measuring about 7'6". This I know because our company manages several of them.

There is no difference in size if you swim the 50 meter in the JOs vs the Olympics it is still 50 meters.

Swimming in the Olympics is a summer event. In competitive swimming summer is long course season. A long course pool is 50 meters in length. A short course pool is 25 yards or meters.
