∙ 12y agoThere were two winter Olympics held in Japan- Sapporo 1972 and Nagano 1998. In the 1972 Olympics the US women won 3 gold medals- 1 in alpine skiing and 2 in speed skating (in fact those were all the gold medals the US won in that Olympics). In 1998 the US women won 4 gold medals- 1 each in alpine skiing, freestyle skiing, ice hockey, and figure skating.
