As of the start of the 2007 season, current African American head coaches are Marvin Lewis-Cincinnati, Mike Tomlin-Pittsburgh, Romeo Crennel-Cleveland, Tony Dungy-Indianapolis, Herm Edwards-Kansas City, Lovie Smith-Chicago.

NBA coaches get paid more. College coaches only get paid for about 40 games while the NBA coaches have to coach 82 or more games.
