In the 1960 World Series he shut out the Pittsburgh Pirates twice, in Game 3 (a 4-hitter for a 10-0 win) and Game 6 (a 7-hitter for a 12-0 win). In the 1961 World Series he shut out the Cincinnati Reds in Game 1 (a 2-hitter for a 2-0 win).
