Roller derbies take place on a circuit track. The two teams playing send five players each onto the track - three blockers (defense), one pivot (last line of defense) and one jammer (scorer). 20 people are allowed on the roster but only 14 can play in one bout.

∙ 14y agoUsually women need to be at least 18 for legal purposes, and in some leagues they require you to be 21. I believe you can join younger if you have parental consent, but that is dependent on the league and their insurance carrier.
There are junior derby leagues, however, for girls under 18. There aren't as many of them, but it might be a good place to start if you aren't old enough for adult derby and there's a junior league near you!
