As far as MLB is concerned, winning percentage doesn't really enter in to whether a team makes the playoffs or not. A team makes the playoffs by winning their division or being the team with the highest winning percentage of those other teams that did not win their division. There have been teams to make the playoffs with a record as 'poor' as 83-78, as did the 2006 St. Louis Cardinals who went on to win the World Series. There have been teams with records as good as 94-68 (1982 Baltimore Orioles) that did not make the playoffs. That goes to show that a team with a winning percentage of just over .500 can make the playoffs where a team with a winning percentage of .580 can miss the playoffs.
Well, technically a team can make the playoffs by winning only one game all season, if all the other teams in their division don't win any. They would then need to win the Division series (best 3 of 5) and the League Championship Series (best 4 of 7) to reach the World Series. So to answer your question, at least 8 games.
Well in Baseball you play 7 game series but the first team to win 4 of those 7 games wins the series and moves on to play who ever else won their 4 games and it keeps going until you get down to two teams and they play in what we call the World Series. Now the World Series is played by one American League team and one National League and the team to get to 4 wins in those games are what we call World Series Champions.
Hope that helps. :-)
The difference between first and second place must be greater than the remaining games on the schedule.
you will have to come in first in your division to make the playoffs or have the second best record in the conference to get the wild card ...
11 overall 3 in the lds and 4 in both the lcs and the world series
More than the other team. It really is that simple.
they won 10 games in the playoffs
Between two teams, to win a playoff you should win 4 games out of 7. But the entire playoffs is composed of 2 rounds and the conference finals. So a team needs to win 3 rounds with 7 games each.
They won 8 games and lost 8 games and did not make the playoffs.
181 all to win the big game.
Hopefully enough to get them in the playoffs and eventually world series. :) Hopefully enough to get them in the playoffs and eventually world series. :)
12 in the regular season. 3 in the playoffs.
None. That would have required reaching the playoffs. In both 2007 and 2008 the Mets collapsed over their final 17 games to miss the playoffs.
they win 12 games.
Depends, most can be 7 games and least can be 4 games, you have to win 4 games to go to the next round
