The length of a bat depends on the player that will be using it. For high-school and 18U Gold level the bats are usually between 31 and 33 inches. For levels lower the bats get successively smaller. If you go to a sporting goods store they can help you with the right length for your bat.

You can buy softball bats at all different lengths. I use a 30 inch right now, but when I was younger I used 26 inch.
