The WWE started out as a regional promotion back in 1960 then known as the World Wide Wrestling Federation ( WWWF ) . changing their name to the World Wrestling Federation ( WWF) in 1979, Then to World Wrestling Entertainment ( WWE ) in 2002.

60 ok this is wong the wwe has been around since 1928 but it was known as Captiol Wrestling under Jesse McMahon then became known as WWWF which stands for World Wide Wrestling Federation under Vince McMahon Sr. then in 1979 became known as WWF which is World Wrestling Federation then in 1982 Vince McMahon Jr. took over then in 2002 he changed it to the WWE cuz of the fact that the world wildlife fund took them to court over the use of WWF so that is the resson it became known as WWE since 2002 if u all dont bleave me wikipedia it on Google.
