It depends on the tournament (local, state, national, or international), and the age and rank level of the division. Many tournaments will have each sparring match last one round of 90 seconds (one and a half minute) for color belts. Sometimes, there are two 60 second rounds with a 30 second rest period. Black Belts often have two or three rounds lasting either 2 or 3 minutes each, with a 1 minute rest period between rounds.

Of course, a match might end early (before time expires) due to a number of reasons (IE: Forfeiture, Injury, Penalties, Referee Stopping Contest, Knock-Out/TKO, or if there is a set spread of points).

In Taekwondo competition, the rounds will vary depending on the tournament level, and rank of each division. Small tournaments often use one round of 90 seconds for most color belts. Adults and particularly Black Belts will usually have two, 1 minute rounds with a 30 second break between rounds. Some larger tournaments and championship matches for Black Belts will use two 2 minute rounds, or three 2 minute rounds with a 1 minute rest period between each round.

National, International, and World events (including Olympic Taekwondo) will typically have Black Belt matches that are three 3 minute rounds with a 1 minute rest period between each round.

It depends on the tournament and level of competition. Small tournaments, and lower belts and children often have shorter rounds. State, National, and International events such as Olympic Taekwondo, and Black Belt divisions usually have longer rounds

Some matches may be 1 single round of one minute, or even 90 seconds long.

Other matches might be 2, one-minute rounds with a 30 second rest period in between rounds.

Black belts might have either 2 or 3, two-minute rounds with a one minute rest between each round.

Many championship matches for adult Black Belt divisions are 3, three-minute rounds with a one minute rest period between each round.

3 Minutes for Juniors and 5 minutes for Seniors. If no-one wins in those 3-5 minutes then it goes to golden score, which is 1 minute for Juniors and up to 3 minutes for Seniors. Hope this helps!!
